Hi, me and my family are also booked on the Caribbean Princess for a January sailing. We are going Jan 22 - Eastern Caribbean. I am bringing my 14 year old son and 11 year old daughter. My son is completely not interested in going and I think if I found more information on kids programs for his age group he would get more excited (go figure - teenagers). I have however found a website with lots of pictures for this ship http://cruiseclues. .com/shipstips/caribbeanprincess. .htm If you find anything out for either of my kids age group I would be very thankful if you would share it with me. My email address is metric111@msn. .com

The ship is amazingly beautiful. It's a floating 5 star hotel in fact. The rooms are fairly big, everyone gives exceptional service and almost everything you can imagine is available for you and your family. one of the only exceptions is newspapers and magazines- the ship doesn't carry either of them (mental note: bring magazines and books if you want some poolside reading!!!). the other unfortunate exception is activities for older teenagers. there is a kids club up on deck 16 but it does cater more for younger children (games, coloring t-shirts, toys). I also have to point out that although it says "arcade" on the maps, this ship does not have an arcade at all!!!! (bring hand-held games if this is crucial for your teens survival!). Another suggestion would be to bring a deck of cards. Honestly the best advice is to read the Princess Patter at the beginning of every day. the Patter is a daily events guide delivered to your room. Watch the fruit carving in the atrium at 10am on one of the sea days. Take a tour of the galley (the kitchen), (it's after the cooking demonstration). Go play bingo, bet on a wooden horse and definity go see the shows (Caribbean Caliente is amazing!!!). Another activity might be to play some of the games offered by the cruise staff. they have trivia, scavenger hunts and kareoke!!
Don't worry too much about activities though, on port days there is so much to see!!! I would definitly reccomend taking a tour. they allow you to see the sites at a decent rate and they don't take up the entire day so you can sight-see on your own as well. in st. .maarten you could rent a jeep and drive around the island on your own. the beaches on the french site are really nice and the drive is along the coastline (beautiful!).

i'm not sure what else to add. take care!
